Maddening lag? Frustrating mass boots? Annoying mic blackouts? Poor hit recognition? Etc., etc.?
Sony has stated that “they do not believe that there is any problem with their servers or the game because they would be inundated with complaints if there were"
Given escalating Socom II server problems of late, its time to give Sony a wake up call. In regards to Socom II: Navy Seals.
As Customers who have invested in the purchase of your gaming products, not only related to Socom II, we have been reliably informed that you believe (in statements made to customers) that there are no problems with the Socom II online game play experience. It was also stated by Sony that if there were problems you would be inundated with complaints. We hope this will suffice.
The greatest majority of players online complain regularly of the massive lag and horrendous hit recognition and mic blackouts as well as other problems. These problems are seen daily and they have impeded the enjoyment of hundreds (more likely thousands) of players.
Below is quick list (though by no means all inclusive) of the problems that have been reported regularly by many players which are obviously server related.
*Watching players appear and disappear in front of or behind you as you try to engage them.
*Killing an opposing player who doesn’t drop down and actually die until seconds later, and in some cases, shoots back and kills you.
*Mic Blackouts- at any point in or after a round, the mic goes out making it impossible to communicate with teammates
*Shooting at an opposing player, seeing blood cascade from their body or head but instead of dying they turn around and kill you with a single shot or burst from their gun.
*Friend's List not updating with the names of friends who have been added.
*Clan List in which no teammates are listed and upon entering the list receiving a message that your clan has been disbanded
*Gun does not fire when pressing trigger button but still see your ammo amount decline.
*Grenade lands next to an opposing player who runs right through the blast at you or, conversely, being killed by a grenade that is no where near you.
*Getting killed through a solid wall that can’t usually be penetrated by bullets.
*Mine Inconsistency- having an opposing player walk right over a mine that has been laid with no effect at all.
*Hostages get stuck in walls or in some cases, releasing hostages and they manage to be sucked through the pores in the door.
*Messages at the end or in the middle of a round stating that a specific team has won only to see that the opposite of that has occurred.
*Invisibility- players on the opposing team can only be seen by a specific player on your team, or nobody at all.
*Mass Boots- the most recent plague in which every person logged in gets booted off and many are not able to log on for about 10-30 minutes later.
The majority of these problems are without a doubt server problems, and they have consistently been getting worse since the Christmas season.
This letter was created to inform Sony of the things we as consumers have witnessed daily in the hopes that Sony will resolve them. We ask not to get the standard runaround, the standard reply letter, the standard treatment. We as consumers expect more from a company with such a worldwide reputation.
We fully understand that it is an enormous task to maintain the online servers, but it is a task that needs to be addressed for the stability and credibility of the franchise.
Thank you for your consideration in this matter. We hope that you will be willing to address these issues.
Sincerely,
(Your name here)
